We can offer the following courses at a diascounted rate:

1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing

The 1st4sport Level 2 Certificate in Fitness Instructing helps learners develop the skills and knowledge required to be able to work unsupervised as a fitness instructor within one of four areas of fitness provision:

·        gym based exercise

·        exercise to music

·        water based exercise

·        exercise and physical activity for children

The qualification is normally achieved through attendance on a programme of training and the completion of a collection of assessment tasks. Learners are required to:

·        complete a series of written tasks covering nutrition, safety, safeguarding and session preparation

·        complete two multiple-choice examinations covering anatomy and physiology

·        plan, delivery and evaluate a series of fitness instructing sessions in the learners chosen area of fitness provision

The qualification delivery and assessment model has been designed by 1st4sport; supported by technical experts, employers and the industry.

Prior to registration learners are required to:

·        be appropriately identified

·        at least 16 years of age

·        able to communicate effectively in English.

There are no further prerequisites prior to certification other than successful completion of all related 1st4sport assessed tasks, enabling full coverage of all learning outcomes and assessment criteria for this qualification

QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)

The Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 require all employers to make arrangements to ensure their employees receive immediate attention if they are injured or taken ill at work. This includes carrying out a risk assessment, appointing a suitable amount of first aiders and providing appropriate first aid training.

Intended Audience

The QA Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification, specifically designed for those who are appointed to act as a first aider in their workplace. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide first aid in voluntary and community activities.

Course Overview

Over a 3 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of first aid situations, including: assessing an incident, managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, heart attacks, choking, head and spinal injuries, fractures, anaphylaxis and more. QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF)

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification designed for those who have a specific responsibility at work, to provide first aid in a range of emergency first aid situations. It is also ideal for people who have a specific responsibility to provide basic first aid in voluntary and community activities.

During this 1 day course, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency first aid situations, including: managing an unresponsive casualty, CPR, choking, shock, wounds and bleeding and minor injuries. QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Statutory Framework requires all early years providers in England to have at least one person who has a current and full paediatric first aid certificate on the premises and available at all times when children are present. Providers should also take into account the number of children, staff and layout of the premises and increase their paediatric first aid provision accordingly to ensure that a paediatric first aider is available to respond to emergencies quickly.

Intended Audience

The QA Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) has been specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework and is ideal for:

·        Those who have gained a level 2 and/or level 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.

·        Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and full paediatric first aid certificate in order to comply with the EYFS requirements.

·        Anyone who has a non-professional involvement with infants and children, such as parents, grandparents and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.

Over a 2 day period, Learners will develop the skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations, including: assessing an emergency situation, dealing with an unresponsive infant or child, CPR, choking, meningitis, head and spinal injuries, anaphylaxis, asthma and more. QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF)

This regulated and nationally recognised qualification provides Learners with the opportunity to develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to deal with a range of emergency paediatric first aid situations which could arise when looking after children.

Intended Audience

The QA Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) qualification has been designed in-line with the current Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements and is ideal for:

·        Those who have gained a level 2 or 3 childcare qualification and have entered into an early years setting and wish to be included in the staff to child ratios to comply with the EYFS requirements.

·        Anyone who cares for infants and children, such as parents, guardians, grandparents or those who have an involvement with infants and children and want to learn key paediatric first aid skills.

Newly qualified entrants to an early years setting who have completed a level 2 and/or level 3 qualification on or after 30th June 2016, must also have either a full paediatric first aid or an emergency paediatric first aid certificate within three months of starting work.
